The Characters

Once upon a time there were two little girls growing up in different parts of West Auckland. Little did they know their paths would cross on a number of future occasions.

By the age of fourteen they had both chosen their career paths. Little did they know those paths would land them in the same industry.

By the age of 17 they had a chance encounter when the Design School and the School of Advertising and Marketing got together to work on a brief. Little did they know they would end up in the same company.

In their early twenties they met formally when one joined JWT to find the other working there. Little did they know they would end up in business together.

The years went by and they went their separate ways. One taking senior creative roles and overseas assignments in leading multi-national agencies - DDB, The Bridge, Saatchi's, Trigger (now (Tequila/). The other crossing the fence to work on the Client side - TVNZ, Ansett New Zealand - then crossing back again to take on senior client management roles at Walkers and Creative Bank. All this time they stayed the best of friends.

Finally 20 years, 3 husbands and several kids later (that's between them) they realised something was missing in the industry. Little did they know it was as simple as taking their years of experience, insights and ability to talk to women, to create Chalis.

Managed by Chris and Julie and servicing a solid and loyal client base, Chalis operates with a permanent staff of 4 plus a contracted workforce and group of specialist partners.
